Duerksen Takes Maiden F2 Win in Baku Sprint, Mini Scores Debut Podium

Duerksen Dominates Baku Sprint

David Duerksen has secured his maiden Formula 2 victory in the Baku sprint race, leading from start to finish to secure his first win in the series. The Carlin driver, who started from pole position, controlled the race from the front, withstanding pressure from PREMA's Dennis Hauger to take the win.

Hauger finished second after a late safety car period, with Carlin's Liam Lawson completing the podium in third. The race was marred by two safety car periods, the first caused by an incident between Campos Racing's Ralph Boschung and Carlin's Logan Sargeant, and the second by a crash involving ART Grand Prix's Frederik Vesti.

Mini Scores Debut Podium

In the Formula Regional European Championship, Mini has scored its first podium finish since its return to the series. The Italian team, which is competing with a new car this year, secured a second-place finish with its driver, Alessandro Famularo.

Famularo, who started from third on the grid, made a good start and quickly moved up to second place. He held off the challenge of Arden's Alex Quinn to secure his first podium finish in the series. The race was won by PHM Racing's Dino Beganovic, with Quinn completing the podium in third.

Duerksen's Dominant Performance

Duerksen's victory in the Baku sprint race was his first in Formula 2. The German driver has been impressive in his rookie season, scoring points in all but one of the races so far. His win in Baku is a testament to his talent and the potential he has.

Duerksen's win also marks the first time a Carlin driver has won a Formula 2 race since Sergio Sette Camara in 2019. The British team has been one of the most successful in Formula 2, but they have struggled for form in recent years. Duerksen's win is a sign that they are starting to turn things around.

Mini's Return to Form

Mini's return to the Formula Regional European Championship has been a success so far. The Italian team has scored points in all three races so far, and their second-place finish in Baku is a sign of their potential.

Famularo, who is in his second season in the series, has been impressive in the new Mini. He has scored points in all three races so far, and his podium finish in Baku is a sign of his growing talent. Mini will be looking to build on this success in the remaining races of the season.
